About the role
Level 6 Project Management Apprenticeship offering practical knowledge into a Project Manager's responsibility for end-to-end delivery of projects. You will be balancing part-time university study with practical experience, involved in all aspects of the Project Management process, applying appropriate governance and project management methods and techniques to initiate and execute projects to meet strategic objectives. You will gain an appreciation of programme management techniques and an understanding of how projects are managed within a larger programme. Upon successful completion you will achieve either a BA or BSc Honours degree in Project Management. You may have the opportunity to take part in planned rotations across several different functions while ongoing your formal training with the university. You will generally work Monday to Friday but may find yourself working in a shift pattern, travelling to various sites, and working across a mix of weather conditions.
Requirements
Appropriate level 3 qualifications on entry e.g. 3 GCE 'A' Levels at Grades A to C, or a vocational equivalent. Apprentices are also expected to have typically achieved Maths and English at Level 2 prior to starting the apprenticeship. Enthusiastic individuals who are logical thinkers with an organised mindset. Should enjoy collaborating with other team members and be confident in communicating with people of all levels. Self-motivated with a good work ethic. Strong interpersonal skills. Proactive team player. Passionate and eager to contribute thoughts, create fresh ideas, and challenge yourself and others. An interest in Project Management. Able to connect with others easily and build strong relationships.
Working week
Generally Monday to Friday but may involve shift patterns, travelling to various sites, and working across a mix of weather conditions

Training & development
Part-time university study combined with practical experience. Formal training with the university and training by the team you are placed in to help you develop the skills needed for a career with Network Rail. You will be involved in all aspects of the Project Management process, applying appropriate governance and project management methods and techniques.
Future prospects
Upon completion of the apprenticeship, you will graduate with a BSc (Hons) and the APM Project Management Qualification (APMQ). You will also be eligible to become a Member of Professional Association (MAPM). You can apply for Project Management positions within Network Rail.
