About the role
Mumbles Day Nursery is looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our friendly team as a Nursery Room Leader Apprentice. This is an excellent opportunity to develop advanced leadership skills within an early years setting while working towards the Early Years Lead Practitioner Level 5 qualification.
You will play a key role in leading the day-to-day operation of a nursery room, supporting children's learning and development, and helping to maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can thrive.
Working closely with the management team and fellow practitioners, you will gain valuable leadership experience while further developing your knowledge of child development, safeguarding, and high-quality early years practice.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day operation of your designated nursery room
- Plan, deliver and evaluate engaging activities that support children's learning and development
- Act as a key person, building positive relationships with children and their families
- Observe, assess and monitor children's progress in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Support and mentor other practitioners within the room
- Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to children's development
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies are followed at all times
- Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
- Contribute to maintaining high standards of care, hygiene and organisation
- Complete all apprenticeship training and coursework requirements
This role involves working closely with young children in a busy nursery environment. Successful applicants must be committed to maintaining high standards of care, safeguarding and professionalism at all times.
Working week
Monday - Friday (shifts range between 07:30 - 18:00).
