About the role
As a Risk Apprentice, you'll learn how to spot problems before they happen, help teams stay on the right side of complex regulations, and keep our bank and customers protected. This two-year apprenticeship combines classroom learning with hands-on experience, rotating through projects in fraud prevention, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
Requirements
Must be 18 years old on 1st September 2026 (Bristol and London) or by end of February 2027 (Edinburgh). 5 GCSEs at grade 4-9 including Maths and English, or 5 Nat 5s at grade A-C including Maths and English. Must possess valid Right to Work in the UK with visa end date extending beyond the apprenticeship duration.
Working week
Hybrid working with at least two days per week in office. Expected to be in office most days during initial settling-in period.

Training & development
Blended learning combining real projects with tutor-led study. Level 3 Compliance & Risk apprenticeship with Kaplan. Option to complete either ICA International Advanced Certificate in Governance, Risk & Compliance or International Advanced Certificate in Anti-Money Laundering. Topics covered include understanding legal and regulatory frameworks, presenting complex information, reporting and analysing risk situations, and building evidence-based reports.
Future prospects
Fully funded Level 3 apprenticeship in Compliance & Risk, professional qualification in either regulatory compliance or anti-money laundering, and transferable skills for financial services careers.
