About the role
A four-year Technology Engineering Graduate Apprenticeship programme combining university study at Edinburgh Napier University with hands-on experience at Lloyds Banking Group. You'll split time between classroom learning and real-world projects, covering software design, databases, web technology, advanced engineering practices, software architecture, and cyber security. The programme culminates in a BSc (Hons) in Software Development with four years of practical experience in one of the UK's largest tech transformations.
Requirements
Must be 18 years old by end of February 2027. Nat 5 at grade A–C in both Maths and English (obtained). 4 Highers at BBCC including Maths or Computing (can be predicted). Currently residing in Scotland. Have lived in the UK for at least three years prior to course start date. Not already hold a qualification at the same or higher level. Must possess a valid Right to Work in the UK with visa end date extending beyond the four-year apprenticeship duration.
Working week
Hybrid working with at least two days per week in the office and one day per week on campus. Apprentices expected to be in office most days during initial settling-in period.

Training & development
Blended learning combining university modules with hands-on projects. Year 1: Software design, maths for engineering, human-computer interaction, data science with Python, computer systems. Year 2: Databases, object-oriented development, algorithms & data structures, web technology. Year 3: Advanced web technology, engineering methods, applied projects. Year 4: Software architecture, cyber security, honours project.
Additional training
One day per week on campus at Edinburgh Napier University. At least two days per week in the office with hybrid working policy. Dedicated time for personal development, assigned mentor, manager, and buddy support. Community of fellow apprentices and access to hackathons.
Future prospects
Graduate with a fully funded BSc (Hons) in Software Development and four years of hands-on experience in software engineering at a major UK financial technology organisation. Skills applicable to specialist software engineering roles and digital leadership positions.
