About the role

As a Software Development Engineer Apprentice, you will have the unique opportunity to work alongside seasoned software engineering experts, gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced, innovation environment. Your role will involve contributing to the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge software solutions that drive our business forward. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will be exposed to a variety of programming languages, frameworks, and methodologies, allowing you to cultivate a well-rounded skill set.

Requirements

Be 18 years or over before the start date; Have the right to live and work in Wales; Have lived in the UK or in the European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 years; Be a resident of the UK for the entire duration of the programme; Successfully complete any additional assessments required by our training provider; Not be registered to study on a UK government funded course ending August 2026 or later; Have at least 5 GCSEs C grade (grade 4) or above including Maths and English; Have 3 A levels or equivalent qualifications at grade C or above, including one in a STEM subject; Must NOT already have a qualification in a similar subject at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship

Blended and Work-based Learning including Face to Face workshops, digital learning and self-study. Core components include: Cutting-Edge Software Techniques, Project Management, System Architecture, Collaboration and Innovation, Quality Assurance, Security and Compliance
Future prospects
Upon successful completion, you will be able to apply for a promotion within a Software Developer Engineer full time role or seek other opportunities globally across Amazon and AWS. Things to consider

This is a 42 month fixed-term contract. You must not already have a qualification in a similar subject at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship. Priority given to applicants eligible for government funding for their apprenticeship.
