About the role
As an apprentice, you'll support Senior Arboriculture and Landscape Specialists with tree surveys, pest and disease management, design reviews, arboricultural impact assessments, planting programmes, contractor management, and strategic implementation. You'll gain experience managing a large tree stock across large-scale infrastructure projects, risk management, rain gardens, and wildflower verge expansion. Work closely with colleagues across Safety, Health and Environment, Asset Operations, GIS, Planning, Policy, Engineering, and Customer Services.
Requirements
5 GCSE passes at Grade C (4) or above including Maths and English or equivalent, plus 48 UCAS Tariff points from one or more of: 2 A-levels (A2) at least one at C or above, BTEC/C&G Level 3, 2 Scottish Highers at C or above, 3 Irish Highers at C or above, International Baccalaureate at 24 points, NVQ Level 3 in relevant discipline, or Access to HE Diploma in relevant discipline. Must have passion for trees and landscape and improving urban environment. Need to be prepared for online learning.
Working week
Hybrid working within this role enables a balance of 50% of time split between the office and home over a 4-week period. Hybrid working arrangements can evolve subject to business requirements.

Includes BSc Arboriculture and Urban Forestry Honours degree delivered online. Each apprentice's journey is unique with experience in tree surveys, pest management, design work, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration.
