About the role

As a Technology Engineering Apprentice at Lloyds Banking Group, you'll dive into coding, problem-solving and building digital products people use every day. This apprenticeship is a deep dive into software engineering over four years, studying at Manchester Met and applying learning directly to projects at Lloyds. You'll cover modules including programming fundamentals & databases, IT project management & cyber security, full stack web development, software design, architecture & enterprise programming, and testing, quality assurance & professional practice.

Requirements

Must be 18 years old on 1st September 2025. GCSEs at grade 4–9 in both Maths and English (obtained). 3 A Levels at grade BCC (can be predicted). Must currently possess a valid Right to Work in the UK. Visa end date must extend beyond the four-year apprenticeship duration. Visa sponsorship is not available as the proposed salary does not meet the minimum Skilled Worker threshold.

Working week

Hybrid policy with at least two days a week in the office. Apprentices expected to be in the office most days during the initial settling-in period.

Training & development

Blended learning combining classroom study at Manchester Metropolitan University with real projects at Lloyds Banking Group. You'll master Python, Java and other core languages, databases, networks and security, full stack web development, and Agile teamwork and modern software practices.

Future prospects
Graduates will receive a fully funded Level 6 apprenticeship in Digital & Technology Solutions, four years' experience in one of the UK's biggest tech transformations, and skills to take them anywhere - from specialist engineer to tech leader.
