About the role

Join Avon and Somerset Police as a Police Officer through the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) program. As a Police Officer, you'll respond to emergencies, offer vital support to those in need, and work to keep communities safe. This role requires courage, empathy and a deep commitment to serving others. You'll combine hands-on police work with academic study, earning a fully-funded BSc in Professional Policing Practice while being paid. Your first 12 weeks will focus on professional training with the Learning Team and University of the West of England, after which you'll join the Patrol team as an operational officer.

Requirements

Applicants are required to reside within 30 miles or up to 45 minutes travelling time of their given posting. Must be driven, compassionate, and bring strong communication skills, resilience, and commitment to serving others.

This is a competitive process. Applicants selected will be invited to attend a compulsory familiarisation event at Portishead Headquarters or virtually via Teams.
