Ysgol Gwaun Gynfi – Teaching Assistant Apprentice As a Teaching Assistant, you will support teachers and provide assistance to children with their educational and social development, both in and outside the classroom. The role will include: Supporting learners with their Welsh language and literacy skills Supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Providing assistance with toileting Supporting pupils with numeracy, literacy and ICT skills Supporting learners across a range of areas within the classroom Understanding safeguarding and behaviour policies and their role within these policies Promoting Welsh culture Working with children aged 3–6 years Supporting the teacher in a variety of classroom roles Maintaining a professional manner at all times when working within a school setting Essential Criteria: Must be fluent in Welsh A willingness to learn more about becoming a Teaching Assistant Enthusiasm for working with children Possess relevant qualities, including patience and good communication skills Ability to remain professional at all times Ability to listen and learn from more experienced staff
