About the role

Are you passionate about technology and telecommunications? Do you aspire to manage IT projects and lead teams in providing cutting-edge IT services and cyber security? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an IT Engineer Apprentice. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of our organisation's IT operations, developing the skills and knowledge needed to become a proficient IT professional. Working alongside experienced IT engineers, you'll gain hands-on experience in managing IT projects, supporting various IT services, and implementing robust cyber security measures.

Requirements

Be 18 years or over before the start date. Have the right to live and work in Wales (if you are on a visa, this needs to enable you to legally work and reside in Wales for the entire duration of the programme). Have lived in the UK or in the European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 years. Be a resident of Wales for the entire duration of the programme. Not be registered to study on a UK government funded course ending August 2026 or later. Have a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4 or above (C or above) including Maths and English. You must NOT already have a qualification in a similar subject at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship.

Working week

Apprentices will work a 40-hour working week. This may involve shift work. The positions will be based in a corporate office.

Training & development

Blended and Work-based Learning including on-the-job training, digital learning and mentoring from IT team members. Virtual classroom/virtual based training to cover knowledge, on-the-job training, online learning, and mentoring from IT team members.
Future prospects
As an IT Engineer Apprentice, you'll have the opportunity to gain expertise in a wide range of areas, including IT project management, cyber security, network administration, and software development. You'll develop a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, telecommunications systems, and the principles that govern their operation and security.

Things to consider

This position is a 24 month fixed-term contract. You must be eligible for government funding for the apprenticeship. You must not already have a qualification in a similar subject at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship.
