About the role

Build a career helping colleagues and customers as part of the future of banking. You'll rotate through different teams in Finance and beyond, including Core Finance, Audit & Assurance, Risk & Governance, Strategic Business Management, Taxation & Treasury, and other business areas. You'll gain hands-on experience forecasting performance, producing key reports, analysing risk, advising on investments, and solving complex problems alongside multi-skilled teams. You'll work with data analytics platforms and next-generation reporting tools while developing soft skills like collaboration, communication and influencing.

Requirements

Must be 18 by end of February 2027. National 5 at grades A-C in Maths and English (obtained). 4 Highers at BBCC, including Maths at grade B (can be predicted). Currently residing in Scotland. Lived in UK for at least 3 years prior to course start date. Must not already hold a qualification at same or higher level. Valid Right to Work in UK required with visa end date extending beyond 5-year apprenticeship duration.

Working week

Hybrid working with minimum 2 days per week in office. Most days in office during initial settling-in period.

Training & development

Fully funded degree in accountancy (MAcc) with Edinburgh Napier University. Become a Chartered Accountant with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Rotation through multiple finance and business teams over 5 years. Hands-on learning with real financial projects including monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audit & assurance, risk analysis, and treasury management.
Additional training
Development of soft skills including collaboration, communication and influencing. Experience with data analytics platforms and next-generation reporting tools. Exposure to wider business areas beyond Finance to understand customer perspective.
Future prospects
Upon completion, you will be a qualified Chartered Accountant with a Master's degree in Accountancy. You will have developed technical financial expertise, analytical skills, and business acumen to progress your career in finance and beyond.

Things to consider

Hybrid working policy requires minimum 2 days per week in office. Apprentices expected in office most days during initial settling-in period. Must be based in Edinburgh throughout programme. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role as the proposed salary does not meet the Home Office's minimum threshold for Skilled Workers.
