About the role
Use insight and analysis to solve problems and support better business outcomes. You'll work with teams across Retail Banking to improve customer journeys, strengthen digital banking and help make everyday banking simpler. You could support Products and Propositions teams, help review customer feedback and complaints, analyse trends in data, and turn complex information into clear recommendations. You'll work with colleagues across customer, product and delivery teams to understand what needs to change and help shape practical solutions. You may also contribute to presentations for senior leaders and support projects linked to service, growth and customer experience.
Requirements
Be available to work full-time from November 2027 for 50 months. Have obtained 5 or more GCSEs at a minimum of grade 4/C. Have obtained or expected to obtain a minimum of BCC across your top 3 A-levels or equivalent. Be fluent in English. Have been a resident in the UK for the last 3 consecutive years before the start of the Apprenticeship and have a continued Right to Work in the UK for the full duration of the programme.

Training & development
You'll build your knowledge of retail banking through structured training, mentoring and four placements linked to HSBC UK's strategic priorities. Alongside your BSc (Hons) in Applied Retail and Commercial Banking with the University of Exeter, you'll learn how customer journeys work across channels, products and propositions, and how data, risk and leadership shape better outcomes. As the programme progresses, you'll deepen your understanding of customer support, people leadership, risk management and product or project management. You'll also strengthen your ability to turn insight into action in a fast-moving, customer-focused environment.
Future prospects
By the end, you'll have a rounded view of the retail bank and the skills to build a long-term career in it. You'll gain exposure to teams that shape customer journeys, products and operations across HSBC UK's Retail Banking business. Your placements could include branches, contact centres and head office teams, giving you a broad view of how the retail bank works together.

You don't need to be a business expert or know retail banking inside out from day one. What matters most is your openness to learning, your problem-solving mindset and your passion for delivering a great customer experience. You'll be naturally curious, customer-focused and motivated by solving problems. Only one application per recruitment cycle is accepted.
