Overview of Vacancy

What's the job?:

You’ll support our showroom teams & installers with the help and advice needed to deliver a seamless and professional service for our customers. Whether it be via phone, email, or face to face, you’ll keep our customers up to date with their projects until completion. You’ll also use design software to really bring customer projects to life, by asking questions and exploring possibilities.

Having the confidence to recommend the right finance, products, and installation options is also important in this role.

What we need:

You’re great at using technology but more importantly you’ll have brilliant communication and relationship building skills as you’ll work closely with colleagues & installers to ensure we deliver the best service on every project. You’re motivated by targets and you’re a good problem-solver and project manager too, with a keen eye for design. And you’re flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.

Future Prospects:

Ongoing training and development. The expected duration of this apprenticeship is 13 months, however you will join B&Q on a permanent contract.

Apprenticeship:

As a Showroom Advisor, you will be working towards the Level 3 Customer Service Specialist Apprenticeship and additional sales masterclasses alongside your daily roles and responsibilities.

Your apprenticeship will be delivered through:

  • Virtual workshops with your industry specialist trainer every 4-6 weeks
  • A mixture of on and off the job training, including workshops and webinars
  • Feedback session to discuss progress
  • Obtain Functional Skills in English and Maths (if you do not already hold these at GCSE level (or equivalent)

  • Customer Service Specialist Level 3
  • Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English (if required)

Requirements

No qualifications required. Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English to be obtained if not already held at GCSE level or equivalent. Must have excellent communication and relationship building skills, be comfortable with technology, demonstrate problem-solving and project management abilities, and be flexible to work on a rota including weekends, evenings and bank holidays.

Working week

34 hours per week, on a shift pattern basis. Monday - Sunday, 7:00am - 8:00pm. Exact shifts to be confirmed.

Training & development
