The Trainee Engineer will be required to: • Support the Well Abandonment Engineers in understanding, managing, and achieving expectations for well decommissioning projects as well as gaining an understanding of the full well life cycle. • Understand and interpret well details including schematics and operational reports. • Provide the Well Abandonment Engineers with support in summarising well construction information. • Support the effective planning of Well Decommissioning activities. • Take care of own health and safety and that of others in the workplace. • Attend service company presentations where possible to develop understanding of service company techniques and services. • Interact with internal and external stakeholders to deliver specific scopes of work. • Maximise learning opportunities such as rig visits, lunch & learns visits to 3rd party facilities as well as capitalising on the learning from experienced colleagues through questioning and observation. • Good understanding of the fundamental concepts of Well Decommissioning, including Well Decommissioning assets, well construction, and reservoir isolation requirements. • Development of the individual’s knowledge and understanding of the full well life cycle and well decommissioning projects. • Achieve BEng (Hons) Engineering; Design and Manufacture • 2 SQA Highers at grade B and 2 SQA Highers at grade C or above, to include Maths and either Engineering Science, Physics or Technological Studies. English at National 5 grade C or above is required if not held at higher. • Organised and diligent. • Hard working and pro active with a ‘can do’ attitude. • Self-starter • Excellent communication skills • Ability to work as part of a team • Proactive and inquisitive, seeking and embracing opportunities to learn and take on new experiences.
