About the role
- Plan individual learning to meet learner needs and ensure lesson plans and resources are prepared prior to learners attending
- Creating conditions in the Training Centre which will help develop the abilities, skills and confidence of each learner.
- Monitor, review and assess learners on a regular basis to meet the requirements of awarding and funding bodies and ensure learners are making expected progress.
- Ensure learners are involved in the decision-making progress, either as individuals or in groups through learner forums.
- Develop training and embed support, advice and guidance and punctuality and take appropriate action where attendance falls below minimum levels.
- Teamwork is a vital aspect of the success of Nova as an organisation and all members of staff are expected to take an active part in team meetings and be involved in general development of the vocational learning offer.
- Undertake any other duties as specified by the Line Manager.
Working week
Monday to Friday, between 8.30am and 4.30pm. 30 minute lunch break.

Things to consider
- Experience in building and carpentry with a Level 2 qualification.
- Relevant Vocational.Teaching experience as appropriate for area of delivery.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Knowledge of relevant software tools and technologise used in the construction sector.
- Current full UK driving licence (with access to a vehicle).
- 2 years experience of delivering training.
- Construction industry experience in building & carpentry
- Effective time management skills
- Work under pressure and use initiative and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills- written and verbal
- GCSE Grade C or above equivalent in literacy, numeracy, ICT or other media as appropriate)
- Be able to work to deadlines and under pressure
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Passion for wanting to teach and supporting learners to succeed
- Excellent communication and the ability to connect with students
- Patience, empathy and proactive attitude
- Commitment to CPD and professional development

About STAFF SELECT LTD
Nova was established as a Private Training Provider in September 1992 and celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2022. We are part of the recruitment agency Staff Select Ltd. Over the years Nova has operated a number of youth and adult training programmes and also delivered employer led programmes and qualifications such as NVQ's and Apprenticeships. Our Head Office has always remained in Willenhall Town Centre (within Walsall Local Authority). Historically we have delivered training programmes across all four Black Country Local Authorities. In 2001 we opened our first centre outside the Black Country, setting up a motor vehicle workshop in Telford.
