About the role
The role is situated within the Identity and Access Management (IAM) team, supporting the system which manages the lifecycle of the IT accounts across the University. The post holder will be required to undertake an apprenticeship approved study pathway that will lead to the award of a digital related qualification in one of the following areas: Cyber Security, Data, or DevOps. Approximately 6 hours per week of working time will be allocated to study time. The role offers excellent opportunities to gain hands-on experience with large datasets and database technologies whilst also working on processes and procedures to support the strategic direction of the team.
Requirements
Five GCSEs at least Grade C or level four (or equivalent) including English Language and Mathematics; Experience of working in a team; Experience of managing time to meet deadlines; Must have completed or be on line to achieve: Level 3 digital related apprenticeship at grade Merit or above, or A-Level passes at CCC or above with one subject being STEM, or BTEC Digital/ICT related Level 3 at grade DMM or above, or T-Level in Engineering or Digital pathway at grade Merit or above; Residency eligibility requirements met; Good spoken and written communication skills; Good digital skills including email, Microsoft 365, digital communication tools; Committed to ongoing training; Ability to solve problems as part of a team; Ability to provide advice to colleagues and customers; Knowledge of health and safety issues; Basic level of software coding; Awareness of data laws and regulations.
Working week
Full time, 35 hours per week, hybrid working with requirement to work from Boldon House at least 3 days per week

Training & development
The apprenticeship is approved study pathway funded by the university leading to a digital related qualification. Approximately 6 hours per week of working time will be allocated to study time. Study pathway will be in one of the following areas: Cyber Security, Data, or DevOps. The decision as to what level of study and topic will be determined by the post holder's previous study and work attainment experiences and acceptance by the training provider.
Future prospects
Successful completion will result in the award of a digital related qualification in Cyber Security, Data, or DevOps at a level determined by the candidate's previous attainment.
