Provide personal care, including toileting, nappy changing, wiping and maintaining personal hygiene, while respecting the pupil’s dignity and privacy. Provide dedicated 1-2-1 support to the pupil throughout the school day, in and outside the classroom. Support the pupil to access learning and develop their communication, literacy, numeracy, social and independence skills. Work closely with the class teacher and school staff to support the pupil’s learning and wellbeing. Follow school policies, including safeguarding, behaviour, health and safety and intimate-care procedures. Maintain professionalism, confidentiality and appropriate boundaries at all times. As part of this apprenticeship, the successful candidate will undertake a structured training programme that includes: On-the-job training – gaining practical experience within a school setting. Off-the-job training – attending sessions covering safeguarding, behaviour management, child development, and learning strategies. Regular assessments and feedback to track progress and improve skills. Additional learning support, particularly in literacy, numeracy, and communication.
