About ADVANCED PROTEINS UNLTD

Advanced Proteins, part of the ABP Group, is one of the UK’s largest providers of animal by‑product collection and processed animal protein solutions, operating from its site on Bones Lane in Cheddleton, Staffordshire. The company, formerly known as John Pointon & Sons, has over 40 years of experience supplying the meat and pet food industries with high‑quality rendered materials, including fats, oils and protein meals.

Its operations focus on reclaiming materials such as bones, fats, offal, feathers, and used cooking oil, which are then processed into premium‑grade proteins, renewable oils, and biomass fuels. These products meet strict safety and quality standards, supported by GMP+ accreditation, multiple ISO certifications, and robust HACCP‑based traceability systems. This emphasis on biosecurity and quality has made the company a trusted supplier within the pet food sector and wider agricultural industries.

Beyond protein production, Advanced Proteins plays a significant role in the renewable energy sector by producing tallow‑based biofuels, which serve as lower‑carbon alternatives to fossil fuels.
